As part of a family-focused event day, we designed programmed an interactive kiosk experience for visitors of all ages. The installation allowed children (and grown-ups) to dance alongside a 3D character, tracked in real-time using a Kinect Azure sensor for full skeletal movement. Two kiosks were placed side by side to enable playful “dance-offs” between participants and their animated counterparts.
We developed the 3D character in-house, including rigging and animation, and designed the kiosk setup to optimise user interaction—taking into account spatial placement, light interference, and flow of foot traffic. The result was a fun, engaging and technically seamless experience that brought plenty of joy across both sites.
